The Dreamer
a bit about me & why this house?
Hi, I’m Nichol Naranjo, and if you know me well, or even happen upon my Instagram, you know I’m a BIG time dreamer. Sometimes, so much so that I have to remind myself to stop dreaming, and actually take action. I dreamed of living in the house I now live in, for as long as I can remember. In case you’re new here, my mom was a housekeeper, cleaning lady, whatever title you prefer, but she cleaned other peoples’ home, including the one I’m writing from right now…Pam’s home. My mom cleaned Pam’s home, every Friday, for more than four decades. As you can imagine those four decades led to a unique, and incredible friendship, not only between my mom and Pam, but between my entire family and Pam.
I can go more into that later, but basically, my mom started cleaning Pam’s home, before I was born. She brought me with her every Friday (until I entered school) to clean with her. So basically, this house was kind of my second home. Especially since I didn’t grow up with grandparents present in my life. When I was on school breaks, I couldn’t wait to come back here. My siblings loved coming here too! It was a bit of a family affair, and if you come from a Latino family, you know most things are. Ha! It’s not a grand estate, just a pretty home, in a wonderful neighborhood, with a fantastic layout, that Pam made magical!
